At FOUR Elements Fitness, our core mission is celebrating what the body can do. Our priority is to teach martial arts to people who may not feel comfortable in traditional training environments, particularly women, survivors of trauma and assault, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and their allies. Our programs and services enable individuals to realize their potential, connect with others, and feel respected and valued in body, mind, and spirit.
As a martial arts community with an orientation towards social justice, FOUR Elements regularly holds fundraisers and provides free programming for at-risk groups, girls & women, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Curious about our programs, but never trained before? All of our classes are super beginner-friendly! Try out as many of our regular classes for your first month no pressure we want you to find the right style for you: Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), Ginastica Natural, LGBTQ+, JKD/Kali, Kickboxing, and Russian CAMBO/Sambo... try them all.

The whole reason we opened this space was to provide training for more at risk populations, and we feel that reopening early is in direct opposition to that mission.
We are also fortunate because we immediately started offering online classes, video and educational archives with now daily Zoom classes through the Patreon platform taught by are amazing instructors, and even bringing on some new classes.

LGBTQ+ MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES
Since 2016, FOUR Elements Fitness has been holding weekly self-defense / Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by and for the LGBTQ+ community in the Bay Area. Friday night classes are usually filled to the brim—the demand has been ever growing and it is clear that our community needs this type of specialized training more than ever. In 2018, through community giving, we were able to launch the Queer/Trans People of Color Fellowship Program where three applicants are awarded one month membership each month and now every Friday we host a FREE beginner-level martial arts class with non-profit (501c3) Traction Project, for the LGBTQIA+ community, focusing on mixed grappling arts.

FREE GIRLS & WOMEN'S
Two San Francisco Bay Area martial arts agencies with deep roots in community outreach and engagement are joining forces to help end violence against women and girls, particularly among low income girls and women. Sweaty Betties and Four Elements Fitness are collaborating to offer offer Girls & Women Self Defense Scholarship Program. Our goal is to provide free self-defense training for female identifying girls and women at FOUR Elements Fitness. We seek to offer girls and women in the community up to 20 scholarships per month over a period of a year.
