YOUTH CLASSES

Our Youth Self-Defense & Martial Arts Program teaches self-defense and martial arts in a non-violent manner to kids ages 7-15 of all genders. The curriculum integrates physical education and self-defense techniques with conditioning and skill-building drills aimed at improving a child’s coordination, motor skills, agility, and flexibility. Mutual respect and cooperation are embedded in our program, as well as socializing and, of course, fun.

Our kids' program includes self-defense, Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ), and kickboxing. BJJ is a grappling art practiced both standing and on the ground. Kickboxing employs both takedowns and striking attacks. Our curriculum emphasizes the use of leverage, control, and technique against larger and stronger opponents while minimizing harm. Kids will learn how to defend themselves effectively without escalating a bad situation. The techniques can be practiced regardless of age, size, or strength.

Classes consist of warm-up exercises, technical instruction, partner drills, conditioning drills, and/or games.
